Intel and Effnet in joint collaboration to demonstrate strengths of Effnet ROHC and Intel Core microarchitecture.
Effnet is the leading supplier of header compression software to the
network infrastructure and cell phone industry. Effnet's software can be
used in high-performance network infrastructure products based on
various types of processors, including the Intel Pentium 4 processor.
Recently, Effnet has validated the Effnet ROHC product on Intel Core
microarchitecture based processors, including the Dual-Core Intel Xeon
processor on an industry standard ATCA board.
Because of its significance in data-plane applications, the Effnet ROHC
solution has been chosen by Intel in order to demonstrate the
capabilities of its processor/platform, which is a building block of
next-generation network infrastructure from access systems to network
core.
The methodology and results of these tests have
been published jointly by Effnet and Intel in a white paper,
