Effnet releases Effnet ROHC™ Version 2.1.
The Effnet ROHC™ is an implementation of the IETF RFC 3095, which is an
open standard for compression of IP, IP/ESP, IP/UDP and IP/UDP/RTP packets
over IP-based networks. The ROHC standard helps to improve the quality of
service by being tolerant to errors on wireless links and reduces the cost
of the network for an operator by compressing most of the header information
in the packets down to only a few bytes per packet.
The new release of the Effnet ROHC™ product is now available. With the
release of Effnet ROHC™ version 2.1, the Effnet ROHC™ includes
complete classification and context management to simplify the customer
integration process.
The Effnet ROHC™ implementation also contains improved standards
conformance as proven during Effnet's participation in the 5th IETF ROHC
interoperability test. An important feature in this release is the reduced
memory footprint size, which will help adaption of the ROHC into memory
critical systems such as mobile handsets.
The Effnet ROHC™ v.2.1. can also be delivered with the improved Effnet
HC-Sim™ version 1.2, which includes an new test suite for ROHC which
tests all features of ROHC. Effnet HC-Sim for ROHC 1.2 will also include the
opportunity to run simulations and show statistics using the new Graphical
User Interface.
