Effnet releases Effnet ROHC™ 2.4
Effnet is pleased to announce a new release of Effnet ROHC™. Effnet ROHC™ is a highly portable software implementation of the header compression technology based on the IETF standards RFC3095 and RFC4815. Many leading telecom and satcom companies are using the product as it provides great value addition when used together with IP multimedia applications in a wireless environment.
The focus of the latest release of Effnet ROHC™ is improved compression efficiency and addition of new features. The release supports MBMS (Multimedia Broadcast Multicast Service) related ROHC features as defined in 3GPP Rel 6 standard. Mobile terminals supporting MBMS and the latest release of Effnet ROHC™ will benefit from reduced service interrupt time during mobility. The release will enable users of the 3GPP2 standards to follow the recommendations for VoIP over EV-DO networks. An additional set of features and optimizations improve compression efficiency which further maximizes the gains of using Effnet ROHC™ in the networks. Read more about Effnet ROHC™ here.
Effnet ROHC™ 2.4 works seamlessly with other Effnet header compression products. This means a broad range of protocol headers can be compressed by combining more than one product.
Effnet ROHC™ is highly portable and it is continuously tested on various platforms such as Nucleus, VxWorks, Linux, FreeBSD, Windows and Solaris. For performance data on x86, ARM, MIPS and PowerPC processors, please contact us at info@effnet.com.
